Dog and Cat licenses
Please remember to license your dog or cat!
- Dog and cat licenses are available at the Casselton City Hall for $4.00 per calendar year.
- Dog at large is defined as a dog that is off the premises of the owner and is not under the control of the owner or a member of his immediate family by leash, cord, chain, or otherwise.
- All dogs found running at large, are subject to impound and the owner of said dog is responsible for all fees associated with impoundment. The owner will be cited into Casselton Municipal Court and MUST APPEAR at the scheduled court date and shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500).
City of Casselton Snow Removal Policy
The City of Casselton requires that owners and occupants of properties that have a sidewalk must clear the sidewalk of snow and ice, and shall after every snowfall clear the snow from the sidewalk within 24 hours. Violators may be cited into Municipal Court or the City of Casselton may clear the sidewalk at the property owner’s expense.
Winter Parking Rules
A. Within the central business district it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle or trailer on any north-south avenue between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, or on any east-west street between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays,. Any vehicle or trailer parked in violation of this section is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and may be impounded by law enforcement.
B. From October 1 of each year until April 15 of the following year, within the area of the city outside of the central business district it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle or trailer on any north-south avenue between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, or on any east-west street between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Any vehicle or trailer parked in violation of this section is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and may be impounded by law enforcement.
C. The central business district for purposes of this ordinance shall be defined as follows: Front Street between 8th Avenue and 6th Avenue, 8th Avenue between Front Street and 1st Street North, 6th Avenue between railroad tracks and 1st Street North, 1st Street North between 6th Avenue and Langer Avenue, and Langer Avenue between Front Street and 1st Street North.
D. Any vehicle that accrues more than $40 in unpaid parking ticket fines may be impounded by law enforcement.
ARTICLE V. Fines and Penalties. The fine for violating the parking provisions of this ordinance is $20.
No parking 2am-6am on Mondays during the remainder of the calendar year in the Central Business District and ALL along Langer Avenue. Fine is $10.
