Planning & Zoning Committee

This committee hears requests for conditional use permits, zoning changes and plat submissions, then makes recommendations to the city council.
A conditional use permit is needed if a space is being used for something other than what it is zoned for or if a business is planning on opening in a building that had a different type of operating business previously.

This committee meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 a.m. A Planning and Zoning application and fees must be turned in by the last Wednesday of the month to be on the agenda for the following month. There is a $150 non-refundable permit fee for applications.

Board of Adjustments Committee

This committee hears requests for variances. A variance is needed if applying for a building permit and conditions are outside of what the land use ordinance stipulates. An approved variance is permanent and does not need council approval.
