Residents can opt out of the pickup service by having their recycle cart picked up, but $5.00 will still be charged. Extra carts can be ordered for a $3.00 per cart, per month additional charge by calling the City Office at 347-4861 ext 11.
RECYCLING 101
Do not put items in bags. Must be loose in bin.
"Clean" means dry and free of most food waste; they don’t need to be spotless. Make sure they are clean enough to avoid contaminating other materials, or soiling your un-lined kitchen recycling bin.
When in doubt, do not recycle it. The "chasing arrows" symbol does not necessarily mean it's recyclable.
Glass Bottles & Containers
Make sure containers are empty and dry.
Do not include lids.
Cardboard and Paperboard
Cardboard boxes (flattened)
Milk & juice cartons (even with the plastic spouts on)
Paperboard (ex. snack boxes, cereal boxes and soda cases)
Pizza delivery boxes, without food leftovers.
Kleenex boxes (even with the plastic opening on)
**DO NOT put paperboard in the cardboard-only recycling dumpsters by the post office and swimming pool.
Paper
Paper - white & colored
Newspaper & phone books (take plastic or wire spirals off)
Envelopes w/windows
